ACSABE secures Big Lottery Fund

Big Lottery fund for Age Concern Slough and Berkshire East

From 1st January 2017 the opportunity centres and lunch clubs in Cippenham and Langley will see a new chapter in their development, supported by a grant from the Big Lottery Fund. The recently awarded grant secures the future of both clubs for the next two years, ensuring that the older people of Slough can continue to enjoy the companionship and support that these essential facilities provide.

Kevin Griffiths, Acting Chief Executive of Age Concern Slough & Berkshire East said ‘We were delighted to learn of the generous Big Lottery Fund award. This funding will allow us to continue to provide venues for the local older people to meet up with friends, enjoy a hot meal and join in various activities, such as exercise classes. Centres such as Cippenham and Langley provide a lifeline to many older people and help prevent loneliness and promote healthier lifestyles. Without this funding from the Big Lottery Fund, it would be highly unlikely that this valuable work would be able to continue’.
