Our free, dedicated, job-hunting project AgeWorks provides a range of confidential and impartial advice and guidance facilities to people aged 50 and over who are looking to find employment, gain new vocational skills or return to learning.

 

The programme provides a training assignment for up to 20 hours per week. This experience will help you improve your skills and gain work experience and self-confidence, so that you can succeed in your job search.

 

We can help you get back into work with friendly information, advice and guidance on topics such as:

  • Writing a CV
  • General job-searching advice
  • Information on training
  • Interview techniques
  • Confidence building
  • Online job-seeking
  • Basic computer skills
  • Back to work initiatives

 

We can also give:

  • Confidential and impartial careers advice and guidance, helping you decide which career you'd like to follow from age 50 onwards
  • A written summary of the interview with an action plan for you to take away
  • Redundancy advice
  • Advice on how to write CVs and job applications
  • Advice on how and where to search for job vacancies
  • Advice on how to succeed at job interviews
  • Access to a fully equipped learning centre with computers to help with job search activities
  • Information and Advice resources about local training and education courses
  • Motivational support and help with setting and achieving goals
