AVOIDABLE WINTER DEATHS OF THE ELDERLY
Action must be taken to tackle the "national disgrace" of avoidable winter deaths among older people living in Britain, a charity said today.
Help the Aged is calling on the Government and local communities to take urgent measures to reduce the number of "excess winter deaths" - those over and above the average for the rest of the year.
